In the previous post, I explained the designed of Isolated footing in detail, please refer “https://knowledgesharingplatform.com/basic-design-of-isolated-footing/“. Here an “Isolated Footing Design Calculator is shared to help civil engineers in design of square or rectangular isolated footings. By inputting values like vertical and horizontal forces, moments, soil bearing capacity, and concrete specifications, the calculator performs stability checks, eccentricity checks, bi-axial bearing pressure checks, shear checks, and reinforcement requirements.
Notes:
- The footing is concentric, meaning the column center coincides with the footing center.
- Only square and rectangular-shaped isolated footings will be designed.
- Eccentricity is kept less than L/6 to ensure the footing remains within the compression zone.
- The X and Z axes are horizontal plane axes, while Y is vertical. In rectangular footings, X represents the longer dimension of the footing.
Simply fill the form, and click “Calculate” to start designing the isolated footing;
