Use this simple online tool to calculate wall weight quickly and accurately based on your wall’s material, thickness, and height.
The calculator provides results in:
- Kilonewtons per meter (kN/m)
- Kilograms per meter (kg/m)
- Pounds per foot (lb/ft)
This makes it useful for civil engineers, architects, and builders working with different measurement systems.
Formula
The formula used is:
Wall Weight (kN/m) = Unit Weight × (Wall Thickness ÷ 1000) × Wall Height
In simple terms, the tool multiplies the unit weight of the wall material by the thickness and height to give the total weight per meter length of wall.
Standard Material Unit Weights
We’ve included the most common wall materials used in construction:
- RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) = 24 kN/m³
- PCC (Plain Cement Concrete) = 22 kN/m³
- Brick Masonry = 23 kN/m³
- Block Masonry = 18 kN/m³
Why Use This Calculator?
- Saves time compared to manual calculations
- Accurate results for structural design and load estimation
- Suitable for RCC, PCC, brick, and block walls
- Provides outputs in kN/m, kg/m, and lb/ft
How to Calculate Wall Weight Manually
Let’s say your wall has the following details:
- Wall thickness =150 mm
- Wall height = 3 m
- Wall material = RCC
Wall weight in KN/m= 24*(150/1000)*3 = 10.8KN/m
This means the wall puts a load of 10.8 kilonewtons per meter of length on the beam/slab.
