Use this simple tool to calculate wall weight quickly and accurately based on your wall’s material, thickness, and height.
It gives results in:
- Kilonewtons per meter (kN/m)
- Kilograms per meter (kg/m)
- Pounds per foot (lb/ft)
This makes it useful for engineers and builders using different systems.
How does it work?
The formula used is:
Wall Weight (kN/m) = Unit Weight × (Wall Thickness in mm ÷ 1000) × Wall Height in meters
This means the tool multiplies the unit weight of the material by the thickness and height of your wall to find the total weight per meter length.
To make it even easier, we’ve included common material weights:
- RCC (Reinforced Concrete) = 24 kN/m³
- Plain Concrete = 22 kN/m³
- Brick Masonry = 23 kN/m³
- Block Masonry = 18 kN/m³
Manual Calculation Example
Let’s say your wall has the following details:
- Wall thickness =150 mm
- Wall height = 3 m
- Wall material = RCC
Wall weight in KN/m= 24*(150/1000)*3 = 10.8KN/m
This means the wall puts a load of 10.8 kilonewtons per meter of length on the structure.
Save Time with the Calculator
Instead of solving the formula by hand, just enter your wall dimensions and select the material. The tool will instantly give you the wall weight, saving you time and reducing the chance of errors.
Whether you’re an engineer, builder, or student, this tool helps you get accurate results fast and with less effort.
